MASCHINENMENSCH 'ROBOT MARIA' IN CRYSTAL
The False Maria ‘Maschinenmensch’ design is the quintessential humanoid robot
that has influenced all those that followed, and represents the purest creation
of a mechanical human being as imagined by expressionist master sculptor,
Walter Schulze-Mittendorff, for Fritz Lang's 'Metropolis' (1926), at the height
of the golden age. As we accelerate our own evolution with technology,
his timeless Maschinenmensch remains one of the earliest icons that envisioned
a paradigm shift of artificial human enhancement.
Brought to you by Kropserkel, and authorized by the Schulze-Mittendorff family,
the official Metropolis 'False Maria' figure has been meticulously recreated
using modern computer 3D sculpture, and etched by lasers into a solid block
of optical grade crystal. The original costume was burned at the stake
in the production of Metropolis in 1926, and she is now resurrected for you here
to possess and ponder with clarity for the very first time.
This stunning release, limited run of the 'Maschinenmensch' three dimensional figure is laser etched in optical grade crystal, and is as much a timeless art piece as it is a unique collectible. Iconic as it is beautiful, it is offered in three brilliantly majestic versions; A 26.5 cm (10.43 inch) tall crystal cylinder mounted on a themed black ring base, a mid sized 17.5 cm (6.89 inch) tall crystal cylinder mounted on a themed black ring base, and a 24 cm (9.45 inch) tall crystal Cuboid block for optimal viewing and light refraction aspects.

Subject figure based on a library of original source materials including privileged reference, and Walter Schulze-Mittendorff's own replica for the Cinematheque Francaise, Paris.
The high resolution 3-D rendering of the Maschinenmensch figure islaser etched into high grade optical grade crystal, packaged in a padded presentation box with a numbered certificate of authenticity signed by the original creator's daughter, Bertina Schulze-Mittendorff.
